Accu-tex FAQ

Q. Do you pay people to advertise on their own vehicles?

A. No. Companies pay us to wrap their vehicles for them for advertising.

Q. What's involved in a vehicle wrap?

A. There are three parts to the vehicle wrap process. Before a wrap can be printed the design and layout must be decided upon. Once the design is approved it moves to the print/production step. The final step is the installation of the graphics on your vehicle/s. In some cases there is another step which would be removal of the graphics once your campaign is over.

Q. Do I need to provide my own design or can you do that for me?

A. Either option is available. We can provide design services for you with client supplied elements (logos/text/photos/etc.). In this case, you provide is the elements needed and work directly with our designers to create the desired layout. If you have your own design capabilities we can provide you with vehicle templates and specifications for the artwork, free of charge, so that you can provide us with your completed design ready to print. It is important to remember the purpose of a vehicle wrap is advertising. Your vehicle becomes a moving billboard in which your audience has approx. 3 seconds to receive your message. Dynamic graphics with minimal text is ideal. Vehicle wraps are not meant to replace a custom paint job.

Q. How are the graphics printed and produced?

A. Once the design is approved we print the graphics on one of our digital printers. Our machines are housed in a completely clean, climate controlled environment which insures the highest quality and consistency. If requested we will send you a printed proof prior to printing the entire job. This is recommended when matching color is critical. Our internal quality control mandates that we print a proof for our records to help match color in case reprints are needed in the future to repair damaged areas or add more vehicles to a fleet.

Q. What about installation, how does that work?

A. Installation can be handled a couple ways. If you have an indoor location available that can fit your vehicle we can send installers directly to you to complete the installation on site. If you don't have an indoor area we recommend that you bring the vehicle to the installers' location to apply the graphics. A controlled environment is extremely important to quality of the finished product. Wind, rain, extreme temperatures, dirt, etc. all contribute to the breakdown of the install process. If you are further than an hour from the closest installer an additional trip charge may apply.

Q. Will my vehicles paint get damaged when the graphics are removed?

A. If you have factory paint in good condition at the time of application, there will be no damage to the paint. If your vehicle has paint that is oxidized, cracked, peeling or has been repainted due to age or accident, the paint may damage upon removal

Q. Can I wrap a leased vehicle?

A. Sure, majority of the vehicles we wrap are leased or rented for specific campaigns whether they be short or long term. The wrap can easily be removed without any damage at the end of the lease or rental term.

Q. How long should I expect the wrap to last?

A. You can expect to get 3-5 years and longer out of the wrap provided proper care is given to the graphics. The graphics are very durable but they aren't bulletproof. If they stayed on perfectly for years and years you'd never get them off. Wraps will have lifting in tight areas and where there aren't large surface areas for the material to adhere to. This is completely normal wear and it will happen with any material used.

Q. What is the proper care for my wrap?

A. Hand washing with soft non-abrasive sponge is the best method. Avoid high pressure washes because that spray can actually tear the vinyl or cause seams to lift. Also, be careful to never use an ice scraper.

Q. What’s the difference between a ½, ¾ and full wrap?

A. 1/2 Wrap includes the entire rear of the vehicle and 1/2 way up the vehicle, and includes a hood logo. A 3/4 Wrap includes the entire rear of the vehicle and 3/4 way up the vehicle, and includes a hood logo. Typically, a Full Wrap includes the entire surface of the vehicle with or without the roof, depending on the vehicle and the client's wishes.

Q. Once the design is approved how long does the whole process take?

A. From the time that the design is completed and approved by our client, a wrap can be printed and installed within 3-7 business days, sometimes less depending on circumstances. If design is also provided add an additional two weeks for the design process.

Q. Can you wrap anything other than a vehicle, RV or Bus?

A. Absolutely if the surface to wrap has enough adhesion for the vinyl, a wrap is possible.

Q. What format of my artwork will work best?

A. A vector based file would work the best or a high resolution image. We can take .eps, .ai, PDF, Photoshop, .png, .jpg,
.tga, .tiff,  Word Document or an Excel file.

Q. What is the minimum resolution that you need?

A. A minimum of 100-150 dpi.

Q. What materials can I select from for my sign or decal?

A. Acrylic, aluminum, banner, sintra, styrene, soamcore, corrugated plastic, fabric, PVC, magnetic, vinyl.
